LOOKING FOR PLAYER

The Central Mass Lightning is looking for 1 player to complete its 2010 14-U roster.  Ideally searching for another catcher, but all positions will be considered.

 ABOUT 14U Lightning:

The Central Mass Lightning is a highly competitive travel softball team that competes against the highest caliber of play available throughout the entire Northeast and nationally.  The team took 1st place in the 2009 Mass State Championships and finished 17th the 2009 USA National Championships in Cary, North Carolina.  Our team promotes athletic excellence, teamwork, sportsmanship and high moral character. Many of our players today will be the collegiate stars of the future.

We are currently a strong roster of 11 dedicated, competitive and experienced players.  As the core of last year’s 12-U team, we have moved up to 14-U and added the right combination of dedicated players to be a competitive factor in any tournament we enter.  This team is comprised of a strong pitching and catching staff, experienced position players and an explosive line-up.

The team is coached by an experienced staff, including head coach Steve Cook.  Steve’s teams have won the ASA State Championships 2 out of the last 3 years.

We will participate in 10 tournaments in 2010, including the April Fools Fest, ASA Mass States, NSA Mass States, and Pony Nationals in Cary NC.  Our winter training will focus on all aspects of the game, including:

  • Fundamental skill development via proper mechanics and repetition.
  • Understanding and utilizing offensive and defensive strategies.
  • Video analysis for batters utilizing the Right View Pro system
  • Building core strength and conditioning.
  • Team building, both on and off the field.

ABOUT YOU:

You should be dedicated, motivated and expect to achieve success both individually and as a team.  You need to be a player willing to put in the hard work and make the sacrifices required to possibly become part of something truly special.

Please call or email Steve Cook for more information or with any questions – all inquires will be kept confidential.
